” Welcome back to our eighth and final YouTalk book club summary of the season. Our last reunion took place on June 5th at La Plaza López Allué to celebrate the Huesca book fair. The weather and the atmosphere couldn´t have been better. Our readers and myself sat in the open air to discuss the book Animal Farm by George Orwell. Animal Farm is a story about the animals in an English farm who decide to revolt and start a revolutionary war against the owner of the farm and humans in general. It´s more than just a fairy tale. Animal Farm is an allegorical novel that reflects the events leading up to the Russian Revolution of 1917 and then into the Stalin era. Actually history has taught us that many tyrannical governments have been overturned by the oppressed masses only to be replaced by a more abusive and controlling type of government. That is why this novel is still very relevant today and it is considered a classic. My friends and fellow readers, I want to thank you all for participating these last eight months with me. I had a great time discussing these books with you. I also want to thank the people at the Ramón J. Sender library and YouTalk who made this event possible. I hope to see you all very soon. Have a great summer and keep reading!!
