Our first edition of Youtalk Reading at the Ramon J. Sender library was a success. I want to thank everybody for participating. This was a colaboration between Youtalk and the libraries of Huesca.
The reading club meeting took place on October 31rst. There were about 18 people that evening. We talked about the book we had read Breakfast at Tiffanys by Truman Capote. This is our first of 8 books that we will read through May of next year. We will have a month to read each book and we will meet on the last Wednesday of every month at 7:30 pm at the library to discuss about the book.
Breakfast at Tiffanys takes place in NYC . Since I am from New York and many of our readers had been there too, we were able to talk about the famous Tiffanys first hand.
Some of our readers had some questions and doubts regarding words and expressions in the book and found it difficult to follow the story. I told them from now on, if anyone has questions about the books we will read together, they can always email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I will be happy to answer each one. As I said in our first meeting, I don´t want any of our readers to give up on a book because of a word or an expression they don´t understand.
I also suggested to read out loud whenever possible to practice on pronounciation. I do this when I read in spanish.
The next book is Teacher Man by Frank Mccourt. We will meet on the 28th of November at our usual time (7:30) and place (Ramon J Sender Library). I hope you can all make it..
